Your Impact in Action - Not for Sale May Highlights

Impact Highlight: The Lord is never late. We are reminded of that this month. The lunch program fridge has been having many issues. We have had it repaired several times over the last couple years. Just days after a birthday fundraiser, the fridge completely stopped working. The fundraiser allowed the community to purchase a new and beautiful fridge which is now full of delicious food.
By the Numbers:
We have 3 NEW students participating in the transportation program. When students leave the Yoro school in 6th grade they are 12 years old, a time that statistically is the most vulnerable to human trafficking.
Our medical grant fund partnered with the community to allow for a precious mom to receive a much-needed eye surgery. The community raised funds through taco/tortilla fundraisers, and Not for Sale was able to fill the gap with the medical fund grant.
Not for Sale funds were able to fulfill a teacher’s wish to honor the mothers in the community for Mother’s Day. Two schools were able to honor and celebrate their mothers and remind them they are not alone. Baskets of beans, rice and other basic essentials were provided for those who needed it most.
Ways to help in May:
Suitcases! We would love your old checked sized suitcases. These suitcases carry essential supplies for their one-way trip. Some examples of how suitcases in Honduras have been upcycled:
Suitcases have become rolling libraries between schools to share important resources
Suitcases have transported life restoring medications and supplies for mobile health clinics.
Our lunch program leaders have expressed desire to have bigger pots to cook with. Consider donating today to expand our lunch program cookware!
How You Can Pray This Month:
Please pray for the moms in our community. Many are single moms, raising children and working in difficult situations. Please pray moms would feel seen, valued and loved this Mother’s Day.
Please pray for wisdom as Not for Sale inquires about becoming a registered non-profit in Honduras. This would allow for Not for Sale to open a bank account in Honduras which would help the teachers in Yoro in many ways. It would also allow for easier transport of supplies through the airport.
May this spring season be a reminder to you of how God in His great faithfulness makes all things new.
We are always incredibly grateful to all Not for Sale supporters and community partners. We pray that as the flower blooms this season you are reminded that no matter what you are facing, God is able to transform, upcycle and create newness and beauty in your situation, in your life.
